 🕊️ Test the Love of the Lord – Ephesians 5:10

“Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:10 (NLT)

As believers, one of our greatest callings is to live a life that pleases the Lord. God didn’t just give us life so we could exist, but so we could love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. But how do we test if our life is pleasing to Him?

1. The Way of a Good Person

A good person’s path is directed by the Lord. A person whose life reflects integrity, kindness, and truth is beloved by God. To walk on this path, we must ask Him in prayer to guide us and transform us.

2. The Will to Do God's Will

Loving God is not just about emotion—it’s about obedience. Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will obey My teaching” (John 14:23). Doing God’s will is an act of love. True love for God means surrendering our own desires and embracing His purpose for us.

3. Those Who Walk in Truth

Truth is not optional in the Christian life—it is essential. People who are truthful in prayer, worship, and everyday life are especially dear to God.

  • Like Daniel, who remained faithful in prayer, we must not pray only in times of need. Prayer is a relationship, not a ritual.

  • Truth must be present in giving—whether it’s tithes, offerings, or our time and energy for God.

4. Breeding: Living a Holy Life

The word “breeding” here refers to how we live, especially in our body and spirit.

  • Unity in the Home: Our family must reflect God's love and harmony.

  • Excitement in Ministry: We must serve God with passion and joy.

  • Temple of God: We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our body and spirit must remain pure. A holy lifestyle builds the temple of God through doctrine and obedience.

5. Working for the Lord

All who are called by Christ are also called to serve.

  • Ministry is not just for pastors or missionaries—it’s a privilege and responsibility for every believer.

  • Whether through helping others, sharing the Gospel, or simply living as a light in the world, serving God is a blessing.

6. Returning from a Wicked Path

True love for God involves repentance.

  • A righteous person doesn’t continue in sin—they return to God immediately.

  • If a sinner doesn’t turn from their ways, they miss the mercy God offers. But those who repent and turn back are deeply loved by Him.

7. Submission to God

Finally, those who submit to God are truly loved by Him.

  • The flesh may tempt us, but we must choose to let the Spirit lead.

  • A surrendered life, where God’s will is above our own, is the ultimate act of love and worship.

🙏 Final Thought:
Loving the Lord is more than words—it's a lifestyle. It's choosing truth, holiness, service, obedience, and surrender every single day. As we walk in His love and live out His will, we become a testimony of His grace.

Let’s pray:
“Lord, help me test my life daily to see if I’m walking in a way that pleases You. Make my thoughts pure, my heart faithful, and my steps aligned with Your will. Amen.”
